Salvia uglinosa

Bog Sage as it is known likes a moist soil and can spread about a bit through your garden. Another perennial that needs a hard cutting back at the beginning of spring this sage will create tall drifts of soft light green foliage with pretty light blue flowers at the terminal ends. Plant Bog Sage in full sun or an area where it can get the afternoon light to brighten up an area with low planted perennials like Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ or Salvia ‘Huntington Red’. I also plant Penstemon ‘Sour Grapes’ with it to create a tall garden bed with flowering contrasting colours and foliage.
