Salvia elegans ‘Aurea’ is a beautiful flowering perennial very much the same as its green related variety. S. elegans ‘Aurea’ is a yellow leaf form of the species and is grown in partially sunny sites with modest watering during the growing period. Red flowers are borne on terminal ends of the growing stems in mid-autumn and last well into winter. In cold climates the plant will die down and will require fully cutting its seasonal growth in preparation for the new year.
