Salvia chiapensis
Salvia chiapensis grows into a low spreading perennial that sprawls about forming a nice ground cover with bright pink flowers on 30 – 40cm stems in late spring through the summer months. Plant in a sunny position for this to spread approximately 800mm. A great perennial to mass plant if you are looking for a great dark green foliage and pink flowering effect. It will tolerate some shade and drought conditions but expect reduce flowers. A light cuting back in Spring will develop more of the deep green foliage and its brilliant pink flowering display.
Plant with larger shrubs at the back of the garden like Rosemary ‘Tuscan Blue’ or Choysia ternata.
