Welcome to my first blog post! As an introduction to myself and this website I will first share with you one of my first memories gardening with my family while growing up on the San Francisco peninsula. With our mild climate, rolling fog and the thundering sound of passenger jets flying past our heads on approach to SFO my mother showed me how to grow everything from lettuce, bell peppers and tomatoes. Our vegetable plot was vast and did not seem to end with the seasons. The only tree I remember was a rather old but stunted Arbutus unedo I would climb when outside playing in the summer.
